The Lewisville Public Safety Campus is a single-story office building with an attached garage, covering approximately 20,800 square feet of mechanical scope. This scope involved the creation of a detailed 3D Revit Mechanical Model, which was used to generate shop drawings based on the contract drawings. The project also required comprehensive Building Information Modeling (BIM) coordination to ensure the seamless integration of mechanical systems with the overall building design.
As part of the BIM process, a thorough conflict resolution phase was undertaken to address issues between disciplines, contributing to a smooth and efficient construction process. One of the most unique challenges encountered during this phase involved bond beams, which presented structural complications that led to adjustments in the mechanical scope. These bond beams necessitated specific changes to the mechanical design/shop drawings, ensuring alignment with the overall building structure.
