  • Assists the Project Manager in the training and mentoring of Junior Designers and Detailers.
  • Maintains detailed records of communications with customers, stakeholders, vendors, and team members using our internal documentation system.
  • Basic understanding of specific design discipline working to minimize gaps in knowledge both in design, basics in fabrication and constructibility.
  • Visually reviews contract drawing plans and own shop drawing plans for defects in design work prior to QAQC handoff.

  • Performs detailing and annotating process that matches industry standard level of care; prepare fully organized and complete deliverable packages with clear and concise visual layout and textual information; Annotation layouts are clean, symmetrical, consistent and has a completeness in relaying the necessary information to engineers, architects, field construction teams and fabrication shops. 
  • Attends project update meetings with both customers and team members; composure in meetings is maintained with a respectful attitude and by engaging in dialogue with effective communication among attendees and Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Profound sense of responsibility for the overall success of the firm
  • Must maintain a high-level organizational skillset for all incoming and outgoing communications clients, external stakeholders and internal project team.
  • Confirms the project scope and requirements with the client and other stakeholders. 
  • Works closely with the Project Coordinator to initiate the internal kickoff meeting with the project team to review details and leads the runway for successful project setup.
  • Confirms a final man hour budget that identifies tasks and hours to complete, uncovering any budget gaps and creating an action plan to bring the job to profitability.
  • Works with the client to understand schedule & deliverable expectations and, with team input, proposes interim milestones to the schedule for proper information flow, adjusting as necessary throughout the project.
  • Schedules work, communicates schedule information to the project team, monitors manpower requirements, and assists in updating resources with current man hour projections in bi-weekly Project Review meetings with the leadership team.
  • Attends and schedules all necessary meetings with clients, stakeholders and internal team.
  • Facilitates clear and continuous communication to entire project team with important details and continually solicits client and internal team for project information as required.
  • Prepares and implements a proactive Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plan for projects.
  • Keeps an active eye on designer's time to complete tasks while evaluating designers abilities, knowledge and understanding of the tasks they are being required to perform.  Report any shortcomings to leadership for training and development plans.
  • Prep all active project’s pay applications in a timely manner for billing department every month.
  • Monitors budget throughout project and works with project team to schedule work in accordance with man hours; approaches leadership as soon as budget or schedule is compromised; proactively assess and submits mitigation plan for potential busts in budgets.
  • Identifies, negotiates, and administers fees for change order requests or any additional services as needed.
